Pokemon vending for independent operators.

Easy placements. High demand. Real money.

Pokemon owns their vending machines. They monopolize grocery store chains like Kroger and Jewel. They don't sell to independents. VTM changes that.

Why Pokemon vending

Easy to get placements. High demand. High profit margins. Bottom line: it makes real money.

The market

Pokemon owns the big-box chains

Pokemon and the major grocery chains are cleaning up. They monopolize placements at Kroger, Safeway, Jewel. The Pokémon Company doesn't sell machines or franchises. Twenty-three states don't even have coverage.

What changed

VTM created the independent opportunity

We leveraged the same model we built at VapeTM. We sourced hundreds of thousands of Pokemon cards to help operators. We engineered a special 22mm coil and sourced protective top loader cases that fit in them. Why? To protect the cards and offer a more affable trading card machine than anything else available to buy.

Alternative machines are the $20k kiosks you see in airports. Too expensive. We built the operator path.

The numbers

Let's go through what really matters

Quick math: packs cost $10 and you vend them for $22. You make $12 profit per pack.

$12
Profit per pack
3.4
Sales per day (average)
$2,000+
Monthly profit (average)

Some packs cost $12 and you vend them for $24. That's the sweet spot. Calculate: 3.4 transactions per day × $12 profit × 30 days = gross profit. We're running dozens of machines ourselves and have over 50 machines across several states. Here's what we're seeing: machines vend $10 packs for $22 repeatedly. Machines are generating over $2,000 per month on average. Full stop.

The biggest objection

Shattered by data

The opinion that they won't sell. This opinion is worthless and shouldn't be shared. Why? Because we're running the machines. We have the data.

Myth: People won't pay $22 for a $10 pack. Reality: This is objectively false. The market is hot. Booster packs are sold out everywhere. The market is a multi-billion dollar category. People pay more because they want the cards. Supply and demand coupled with impulse psychology. In fact, many operators are marking them up $13, $14, $15. The data above—real transactions from real machines—proves that opinion isn't worth sharing.

Location types

Where machines thrive

C-stores, gas stations, family entertainment centers, high-traffic locations, playgrounds and play day cafes, rec centers, bowling alleys, arcades, trampoline parks, amusement parks, hotels, travel centers. It doesn't have to be kid-centric. Adults are buying them. The pattern is clear: high foot traffic, a mix of impulse buyers and collectors, and owner buy-in.

FAQ

Questions from operators

Real questions. Real answers based on operator data.

Do I need a license to operate Pokemon vending machines?

No. Pokemon trading card products are unregulated consumer goods. You don't need age verification, special licensing, or franchise approval. That makes Pokemon vending far simpler than age-restricted categories like vape or alcohol. If you can run a vending route, you can run Pokemon vending.

Is it legal to sell Pokemon cards from a vending machine?

Yes. The United States First Sale Doctrine allows the lawful purchaser of a copyrighted or trademarked product to resell it through any legal retail channel without permission from the brand owner. Once sealed Pokemon product is purchased through authorized distribution, it can be resold on shelves, in kiosks, and in smart vending machines the same way retailers do.

Are operators really making $2,000+ per month?

Real operators with machines in real locations are. We run 50+ machines across multiple states. The Cleveland case study was a single gas station generating $922 monthly profit. Other operators at higher-traffic locations see $1,400–$2,800 monthly. The difference is location selection and pricing strategy. Worse locations will generate less. Better locations with higher foot traffic will generate more.

Why won't The Pokemon Company sell machines to independents?

The Pokemon Company International does not sell vending machines, does not franchise the category, and does not distribute hardware to independent operators. The official machines deployed in airports and malls come from overseas manufacturers selling six-figure units requiring custom elevators and proprietary software. That's closed off to almost everyone outside a tiny circle. VTM exists because independents were completely locked out.

Where do I source booster packs at wholesale rates?

VTM reserves wholesale booster pack supply specifically for operators who own a VTM machine. You get access to packs at around $10 per booster without competing for retail inventory. This supply pipeline is exclusive to VTM operators and ensures you can consistently stock your machines at margins that work.

Can I manage my machines remotely?

Yes. VTM software gives you real-time sales, inventory, and pricing control from any device. You can adjust prices, see which slots are running low, pull revenue reports, and track performance across multiple locations without ever visiting a machine.

What payment methods do VTM machines accept?

Every machine ships with Nayax VPOS Touch payment hardware that accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and cash. Payment processing costs 3.5% plus 20¢ per transaction. You get real-time reporting through Nayax and VTM software.

How much does it cost to run a VTM machine per month?

First year: $0 software fee. Starting month 13: $29 per month per machine. You also pay location commission (typically 10% of revenue), payment processing fees (3.5% + 20¢ per transaction), and electricity (minimal). The machine itself you own outright.

What's the best location for a Pokemon vending machine?

High-foot-traffic locations with a mix of impulse buyers and Pokemon collectors. Gas stations, convenience stores, arcades, bowling alleys, family entertainment centers, hobby shops, and mall kiosks all perform well. Locations with younger customers and families tend to outperform standard C-stores. The key: permission from the owner and decent foot traffic.

Do I need prior vending experience?

No. If you understand basic numbers, can manage a route, and can pitch location owners, you can run Pokemon vending. VTM provides the hardware, software, and product sourcing. Setup takes under an hour. Restocking is straightforward. The business model is simple enough that non-vending entrepreneurs are launching routes successfully.

Is VTM Vending affiliated with The Pokemon Company?

No. VTM Vending LLC and VapeTM are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with The Pokemon Company International, Nintendo, Creatures Inc., or Game Freak. All product names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. VTM operates independently and sources sealed product through legitimate retail and distribution channels.
